Support at Home pricing at Kanda

Prices on this page are as at 1 November 2025.

Understanding Support at Home pricing

Different Support at Home services have different costs and pricing. How much you actually pay for a service (your contribution) depends on the results of your assessment.

Clinical care is fully funded by the government so you won’t have to pay a contribution.

Your contribution for other services will be determined by the outcome of your MyAgedCare income and assets assessment. When your assessment is complete, you will receive a budget. You can use this budget to pay for services from your service provider.

When you make a service agreement with your chosen provider, the agreement includes the prices you’ll pay for the services they provide. If your provider needs to change prices they charge, they need to clearly explain those changes to you.

You have a right to know the prices your provider is charging, and your provider is legally required to provide those details.

How Support at Home pricing is regulated

Support at Home was introduced on 1 November 2025.
Pricing is regulated by the government. To comply with government requirements, providers must:

Be transparent about their pricing

By publishing their prices on the MyAgedCare website.

Include all delivery costs in their prices

For example, the price they charge must include labour, administration, and package management. Providers cannot charge extra for management or travel on top of the quoted price.

Keep their prices reasonable

In the first few months after Support at Home started on 1 November 2025, providers set their own prices. From 1 July 2026, the government will set maximum prices. This means there will be a cap on how much providers can charge for services.

  • This fee is calculated at 10% of the total cost of the item (or bundle). That means you’ll pay whichever cost is lower.

Costs of home modification activities:
We charge a coordination fee equal to 15% of the total quoted home modification costs capped at $1,500. That means you’ll pay whichever is lower.

Regardless of your assistive technology and home modification needs, our team of Care Partners will ensure a smooth and coordinated experience and will work with you to confirm and agree on prices before purchasing.

Frequently asked questions

Support at Home is the Australian Government’s new in-home aged care program, replacing Home Care Packages. Pricing is based on approved hourly or per service rates that reflect the type of support provided, the skill level required and when the service is delivered. At Kanda, all pricing is transparent so you can clearly see what you are paying for.

The cost of Support at Home depends on the service you receive. Personal care, nursing, allied health and everyday living services all have different hourly rates. Prices may also vary for evenings, weekends and public holidays. Kanda provides a clear rate card so you can understand costs before services begin.

Yes, prices for the Support at Home program are regulated, but with a phased approach. Providers set their own prices initially, but from 1 July 2026, mandatory government price caps will apply, ensuring prices are reasonable.

Weekend and public holiday rates reflect higher staffing costs and sector wide penalty rates. These rates help ensure qualified staff are available when you need support outside standard business hours.

Care management supports the planning, coordination and review of your services. This may include organising supports, reviewing your care needs, coordinating workers and helping you navigate the aged care system. Kanda’s care management focuses on continuity, quality and peace of mind.

Transport may be charged per trip or per kilometre depending on the service. Direct transport is charged as a set trip, while travel during another service is charged per kilometre. Kanda explains how transport charges apply before services commence.

Your actual costs depend on the services you receive, how often they are delivered and when they take place. Kanda works with you to explain expected costs upfront so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

When you have your My Aged Care assessment, you may be approved for funding for assistive technology or home modifications, or both. We can help you with organising your assessment and answer any questions you have.
