Yes, we absolutely understand the importance of having your service or therapy animal with you. If we are head leasing a property on your behalf, we willwork with you to complete a pet rooming agreement and seek permission from the leasing agent. Our team will guide and support you through the entire process to ensure everything is in place.

Of course! We have a variety of SIL vacancies available for you to explore. If none of these are suitable, we’ll work with you to find a house that matches your support needs and personal preferences. Your ideal home is our priority.

In your SIL NDIS plan, Supported Independent Living is covered under the Core Supports budget, specifically within the "Assistance with Daily Life" category. We will help you navigate your NDIS plan, understand your funding and identify the supports you’ve been allocated, so that you can make the most of your plan.

Absolutely! We know how important it is to live with someone you connect with. We’ll take the time to get to know you, asking about your lifestyle and what you’re looking for in a housemate. This helps us find a match that feels right for you.

You can! We’ll work with you to assess your individual support needs and explore how your goals and funding can best align with your current living situation. Our aim is to find a solution that works for you.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is NDIS-funded support that helps people with disability live as independently as possible. It includes assistance with daily tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication and household routines, either in your own home or a shared living environment.

SIL is generally available to NDIS participants with higher support needs who require regular daily assistance or overnight support. Eligibility depends on your goals, functional needs and whether SIL is considered reasonable and necessary within your NDIS plan.

Kanda’s SIL support can include personal care, meal preparation, medication assistance, domestic help, transport support, appointments and community participation. Services are tailored to help build confidence, independence and day-to-day living skills.

SIL can include 24/7 support depending on your assessed needs and NDIS funding. This may involve daytime assistance, overnight support and help with higher care or emergency situations to ensure safety and peace of mind.

SIL refers to the support services you receive, such as personal care and daily living assistance. SDA refers to the physical home itself, designed for people with very high support needs or significant functional impairment.
